So which one is going to win? I have to admit, its a constant battle. Every day we all face a quiet tug of war in our minds. It’s not the words we say, the language we speak that controls the outcome of our success. Yes, you guessed right – its our THOUGHTS! Your thoughts are a million times more powerful that you realise, but be careful because when a negative thought enters your mind it becomes difficult to remove it!
Challenging our negative thoughts

Sometimes we may seem more likely to believe a negative thought than to believe the opposite. If someone say’s, “you look good in what your wearing”, we might be thinking ‘what do they want’ as we look at them in almost disbelief! Perhaps we do look good, but may never recognise it if we have low self worth or lack self belief.
Self belief is that little voice that says, “I’ve got this”. It helps you to keep going when things get tough, try new things, and bounce back when you think you have failed. Its not about seeking perfection, its about trusting your self enough to give it a go and keep learning along the way.
Then there’s self-doubt, the voice that says, “I’m not good enough” or “What if I fail?”. This can stop you before you even start. A little self doubt is normal, however, when it takes over your mind, your life, it holds you back from trying, growing and reaching your potential.
Willing to keep trying
The truth, is no one feels 100% confident all the time. The trick is not letting ‘doubt’ be the loudest voice in the room (or your head). Self belief isn’t about always being sure of yourself, its about being willing to try anyway, perhaps try again and again!
Start small. Remember the times you made it through something hard. Talk to people who lift you up, and ignore the ones who believe their working in your best interests. Continue to challenge negative thoughts when they show up in your mind. I call them my annoying gremlins. The more you practice believing in yourself, the stronger that belief will get.
Its not magic – its mindset. And it starts with giving yourself a chance!
